Hedgehogs in the garden!

I wondered if we might have hedgehogs visiting our garden.  I decided to set up my trail cam overnight.  In the morning I checked my camera and was delighted to find that we did have a visit from a hedgehog.  It took a few nights to get the camera set up at a good angle but thankfully the hedgehog returned.  Here is my best movie so far.

Barn owls and bugs

A few days ago I was lucky enough to go barn owl watching again.  I was fortunate to be able to watch the owls for over half an hour.  It was worth hiding in long grass and suffering with hayfever!  Barn owls are hard to photograph but here are a small selection.

When I was waiting for the barn owls I enjoyed photographing insects hiding the vegetation.

Woodpecker nest

Returned to see the woodpecker nest.  Mum managed a shot of a young woodpecker peeping out of the tree. I recorded the sound of the chicks.
